Three and a Half!

My Sweet Lukey Bear:

You are three and a half!  I am thoroughly fascinated by you - as I have been since your sweet personality began to emerge when you were a baby.  There is something so amazing about you that I know I won't be able to capture in words, but I'll give it a go!

  • I honestly have no idea how much you weigh - our bathroom scale battery died!
  • You wear size 3T/4T clothes and size 10.5 shoes.
  • You continue to be a pretty picky eater and every meal could turn into a battle of the wills if I let it.  Your favorite foods include pancakes, waffles, pancakes, waffles, pancakes, and waffles. If you're feeling adventurous, you'll eat yogurt, blueberries, apples, Nutri grain bars, deli meat, crackers, and fish.  You still love, love, love milk and would probably walk over glass to get a sweet treat.
  • You've pretty much given up your naps.  Your teachers report that you nap fairly often at school, but never at home.
  • Speaking of school, at your conference your teachers said that you are on your very best behavior - that you follow directions and always know the answer to their questions - that you're a great "student"!  I don't want to say that this surprised me, but this surprised me.  :)  I say this because you are definitely in the heat of trying to find your independence at home and you have become quite difficult at times.  You cry when you don't get your way and it can be hard to get you to stop once the fit is in full swing.
  • That being said, you still have the sweetest, gentlest little soul.  Your hugs, kisses, and cuddles, although quite sparce, are full of so much sugar I could almost eat you up!
  • You are super silly and love to make people laugh.
  • You are very shy and bury your face into my shoulder when adults try to speak to you, but you strike up conversation very easily with other children.
  • You have the most amazing imagination and this is what fascinates me most about you.  You can make up the most creative games and stories about just about anything (a straw at a restaurant, a shovel, a rock from the back yard) - you can entertain yourself in the most creative way with everything.
  • I know every mommy thinks this about her child, but you are very smart.  You interact with language (spoken and written) in amazing ways - you can hear a word or phrase one time and adopt it into your own spoken language immediately.  At breakfast this morning I heard you say (to yourself, no less) as you turned your spoon into a rocket ship, "Meanwhile, the aliens on the ship were free to explore."  You amaze me!
  • You love and admire Cade with all your heart.  You want to be a part of anything and everything he's doing.
  • Your favorite things include:  playing in the playroom, milk, your giraffe bwankie - it goes everywhere, your Leap pad, Blaze and the Monster Machines, being silly, Cade, playing games (Candy Land, The Lion Guard game, Go Fish, etc.), getting your way, and music (you try to sing along to lots of songs on your CDs - it's adorable!).
We love you more than you will ever know and we are blessed to be your family!

Happy Valentine's Day

I am more in love than ever with my 3 Valentines!  I am blessed to be in a bend of life when all of my sweet boys consider ME their Valentine...I'm trying to soak that up as I know that will change down the road (for Cade and Luke, that is) :)

Go Falcons!

The Falcons went to the Super Bowl this year!  The air was electric and hopes were high going into the big game and although we were disappointed by the outcome, we sure had fun celebrating Super Bowl Sunday!  The boys decorated the house and we had our annual 'Family Super Bowl Party'.  I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!

Happy Thanksgiving!
