Hoppy Easter

We had a nice, simple Easter.  Yesterday we dyed Easter eggs.  By the time it was over, every egg had been dropped and cracked...but the boys had fun despite all the spilled dye cups and cracked eggs. Every time an egg cracked Lukey said, "Oops...another egg hatched!"

This morning the boys woke up to surprises from the Easter bunny, then we went to church and out for breakfast afterward.  We made bunny cupcakes after naptime which C & L devoured after dinner, and the boys played with toys from their Easter baskets all day (their favorites are a toy Kion and Beshti - from The Lion Guard).

I've been amazed and what Cade and Luke (mainly Cade) can articulate about the importance of Easter and what it's all about.  We are thankful for a church that makes such complicated truths comprehensible for such young minds.

Happy Easter!

Busy Bees

Spring has sprung and we have been busy, busy bees!  Here's a peek at our last couple of weeks...
Cade at a birthday party at Everland for his school friend Jack.

Cade's flag football season began two weeks ago.  Watching this group of 3-4 year olds play a football game is nothing short of comedy.

Trying to get the hang of keeping a mouth piece in...

First water table play day of the year!

Cade had a Super Hero Training Camp at school last week.  He had to pick an original super hero character and design a costume to match.  He was Web Guy....not to be confused with Spiderman.

That pesky leprechaun stopped by on St. Patrick's Day...

Today Luke had a birthday party at Chick-fil-A for his school friend Madison.

And tonight we went to an "illuminated Easter egg hunt".  The boys had a lot of fun racing around trying to grab up as many eggs as they could!

Making a caterpillar before the start of the egg hunt.  Lukey said he didn't want to make a thing! Ha!

Todd really got into the crafts too.  LOL!

And to add to the madness, we had a leak from the kitchen sink that dripped through the kitchen floor and into the garage so we stepped around and yelled over loud fans for the first part of the week.  Fun times.

Funny Things You Say...Vol.2

Man are you two funny, Cade and Luke!  I laugh out loud several times a day over the hilarious things that come out of your mouths.  Every once in a while my phone is close enough for me to make a note of something funny you guys have said.  Here's a few I've taken note of over the last couple of weeks:

  • "WHOA Lukey!  BE CAREFUL!!  You almost pulled my tubes out!" yells Cade (with a very serious face and a very serious tone) at Luke during a little rough play.
  • Cade picks up a piece of a black shingle that fell onto the driveway while we were having the gutter replaced and says (totally serious), "Mommy!  Look!  A piece of Cassius' nose fell off!"
  • "Mommy, can we sing London Bridges?" - Luke  (sing the first line of the song and you'll see where he got this from.)
  • "I want to be a football player when I grow up." - Cade  "I want to be a ghost when I grow up." - Luke
  • "Mommy, did God glue everybody together?" - Cade
  • "Oh no!  My leg cracked open!" - Luke after noticing a small cut on his leg while taking a bath.
  • "My tears won't come out!!!" -Luke while trying really hard to cry over something not-so-cry-worthy
  • "Mommy...were you alive when dinosaurs were on the earth?" -Cade
  • "Look Mommy, I have Santa Claws" - Luke while making his hands into claw shapes (how clever!)
  • Another day..."I want to be a football player when I grow up." - Cade  "I want to be a broken baby tooth." - Luke
  • "You can't wear those because you're not even me!" -Luke, after I put on his sunglasses, much to his dismay
  • "David got another nosebleed today."  -Cade  "That happens to some kids." - Me "Well my nose has this special trap in it that keeps all the blood inside."
  • "LOOK!  There's Old McDonalds!!  Are there animals inside?"  -Luke, while driving by McDonald's
  • Not funny, but CRAZY sweet..."It's a beautiful day. Maybe God knew we wanted to go on a date and made it a pretty day for us." -Cade.
